Recipient of the National High-level Talent Program, Expert Member of the National Textbook Committee, and recipient of the State Council Government Special Allowance approved in 2001. Currently the Dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategies, RUC. Previously served as Vice President of Fudan University, Secretary-General and Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, President of Renmin University of China, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China. Main research areas: Political theory, Chinese politics and comparative politics. Professor LIN has led several national and provincial-level research projects, including the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund "Research Project on the Governing System of the Communist Party of China". Published numerous academic works, including Intergovernmental Relations in China, Party Politics and Modernization, The Logic of Politics: Principles of Marxist Political Science (co-authored), Studies in Contemporary Chinese Politics Formation, The Communist Party of China and State Building, and Contemporary Chinese Politics: Foundations and Development. Authored hundreds of academic papers. Research achievements have achieved the First Prize of Third China University Humanities and Social Sciences Research Outstanding Achievement Award by the Ministry of Education, and the Third Prize of the Seventh Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences for Higher Education Institutions.
