HUANG Shisong: Unlock the "Silver Romance" of Chinese Modernization

Chinese modernization is the modernization of a huge population. China has the largest number of elderly people in the world, and successfully finding a path to deal with population aging will be another great contribution made by China to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Fairness and inclusiveness are the most notable advantages of elderly care services in China. Taking an approach of shared responsibility among the government, the market, households and individuals, and hierarchical response to the risk of aging, Chinese-style elderly care services aim to achieve an organic unity between addressing the issue of an aging population and promoting high-quality economic and social development through policy innovation, technological breakthroughs, cultural inheritance and participation by all people.

China will always maintain a positive, open and inclusive mindset, make full use of international and domestic resources, and fulfill its responsibilities as a responsible major country to promote the implementation of a proactive national strategy in response to population aging. China will explore a path to address super-large-scale population aging in the context of "getting old before getting rich", not only by taking into account its position in the global population aging landscape, actively participating in the visions and action plans advocated by the United Nations and the World Health Organization, but also by basing itself in its national conditions and cultural inheritance.
