Background: On April 17, 2018, the National Bureau of Statistics officially released the unemployment rate for urban surveys in China. This is a major event in the study and practice of the labor market in China. Surveying the unemployment rate as one of the four macroeconomic indicators that parallels the economic growth rate, the price index, and the balance of international payments has played an important role in monitoring macroeconomic operations and reflecting employment unemployment. Since April of this year, the National Bureau of Statistics has surveyed the unemployment rate as part of the main statistical information release plan, and has regularly published monthly surveys of the unemployment rate in the country and in 31 large cities and towns. The lecture invited the relevant staff of the National Bureau of Statistics to introduce the unemployment rate of China's labor force survey and investigation; discuss following issues such as investigation design, related questionnaires and indicators, international comparison, how the registered unemployment rate coexist, and the suggestions for further improvement of the survey unemployment rate.
