DecAll 90 members of Hong Kong’s eighth-term Legislative Council have been elected.
They include 40 chosen by the Election Committee, 30 elected by functional constituencies and 20 by geographical constituencies through direct elections.
They will begin a four-year term on January 1.
The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said the election was an important achievement in the development of high-quality democracy that is in line with the “one country, two systems” policy.
