The 4 special teams in this area are the macroeconomic forum team led by Prof. Liu Wei and Prof. Liu Yuanchun, the Chongyang financial studies team led by Prof. Chen Yulu, the socialist economic theory team led by Prof. Zhang Yu and the new-type urbanization team led by Prof. Yang Ruilong and Prof. Guo Qingwang.
These research teams have long been focusing on international economic governance, China’s economic reform, socialist market economy theory, macroeconomic forecast and analysis, new-type urbanization and other fields.
In recent years, a total of 5 key documents have been given written instructions by the General Secretary, 5 by the Premier and 52 by leaders above provincial and ministerial level. While constantly providing decision-making consultation achievements, a good number of team experts have been hired by the Policy Research Office of CPC Central Committee, the Research Office of the State Council, the Monetary Policy Commission of the People’s Bank of China and other institutions. The research teams have become heavyweight think tank teams to China in the fields such as economic governance and development.

Zhang Yu, Dean of the School of Economics, RUC; Professor (Grade II) of RUC. Liu has chaired some major projects of the National Social Science Foundation and multiple other research projects.
