This research area has 3 think tank research teams, namely the social security team led by Prof. Zheng Gongcheng, the population studies team led by Prof. Zhai Zhenwu, and the research team on China’s employment policies led by Prof. Zeng Xiangquan.
These research teams have long been focusing on social security, population policy, employment and other hotspot fields of social governance, actively undertaking social survey to obtain first-hand data, and conducting academic principle-based analysis and forecast as well as carrying out countermeasure studies.
In recent years, a total of 3 key documents have been given written instructions by the General Secretary, 11 by the Premier and 47 by leaders above provincial and ministerial level. The research teams have become invaluable think tank teams to China in the social governance field.
