China Macro-economic Forum

As a key brand activity of RUC in building new-type high-end think tanks, the “China Macroeconomic Forum”, since its initiation in 2006, has been successfully held for 34 sessions. The Forum combines the comparative disciplinary and talent advantages of RUC with the central government’s decision-making needs and social needs, the social power with the academic power, the real problems of China with global perspectives, and the profound ideas generated from research with scientific methodology. Its reports on China’s macroeconomic analysis and forecast are highly spoken of by CPC and state leaders. Such reports have also received great attention from the government sector and the society and exerted extensive social and international influence.

Liu Wei

RUC President; Dean of RUC NADS; PhD in Economics; Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. Liu also works as a member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, member of the discipline review group for theoretical economics and Deputy Director of the Committee of Experts on Discipline Development and Specialty Setup of MOE. Liu’s major research areas include: socialist economy theory in political economics, transition economy theory in institutional economics, industrial structure evolution theory in development economics, and economic growth and property rights of enterprises. Liu has published over 200 pieces of academic paper and some 10 academic works and received multiple academic rewards. Liu has independently chaired multiple projects of national and MOE social science foundations.

Mao Zhenhua

Researcher of RUC NADS; founder and Chairman of China Chengxin Credit Rating Group; Co-director of the Institute of Economic Research of RUC; Part-time Professor at Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. Mao’s research areas include macro-economy, capital market and credit rating theory. Mao has published monographs such as Capitalized Enterprise Systems.

Yang Ruilong

Researcher of RUC NADS; President of the Academic Journal Society of RUC; Chief Editor for Economic Theory and Business Management; Executive Vice President of the Economics Association of Beijing; member of MOE Economics Teaching Steering Committee; consultant to Beijing Municipal Government; special expert on consulting and decision-making for Shanghai Municipal Government; Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program, MOE; Guest Professor at Durham University of the UK. Yang successively went to the University of Queensland in Australia and Odense University in Denmark for visiting and further education. Yang has also published a batch of influential scientific research findings in the areas of institutional economics, enterprise theory and disequilibrium economics.

Executive Dean of RUC NADS; Director of the Scientific Research Office, RUC; Standing Deputy Director of the Institute of Economic Research of RUC; Doctoral Supervisor; Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program, MOE; Council Member of China Society of World Economics; Assessment Expert for the Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars, MOE; Assessment Expert for the National Social Science Foundation. Liu has chaired some major projects and general ones of the National Social Science Foundation, published multiple pieces of paper on first-rate domestic journals such as Social Sciences in China and Economic Research Journal, and rendered extensive influence in the area of macroeconomic analysis and forecast in China.

Researcher of RUC NADS; Executive Vice President of China Chengxin International Credit Rating Co., Ltd.; Vice President of China Chengxin Credit Management Co., Ltd; former Executive Vice President of China Chengxin Financial Consultancy Co., Ltd; former Executive Vice President of China Chengxin Credit Management Co., Ltd; former Deputy Chairman of China Chengxin Securities Rating Co., Ltd. In 1999, Yan obtained the doctor’s degree in economics at RUC.
