National Academy of Development and Strategy, Renmin University of China (RUC) is Chosen as One of Top 10 Chinese Think Tanks 2016

On Jan. 18, Guangming Daily released the election result of “Top 10” influential Chinese think tanks in 2016, of which the National Academy of Development and Strategy, RUC (hereinafter referred to as NADS) was chosen as one.

NADS, officially established in June 2013, is a non-profit entity research institution which RUC makes key efforts to build by integrating its quality thought resources, with RUC Professor and Party Secretary Jin Nuo, serving as the present Chairman, RUC Professor and President Liu Wei, as the President, and RUC Vice President Liu Yuanchun, as the Executive President. As one of the first-batch 25 pilot units in building national high-end think tanks, NADS, with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s thought of governance of China as the guidance, and "Four Comprehensives" strategy as the research framework, bases on "One Field", namely national governance, focuses on three segments of economic, political and social governance, and develops "Four Platforms", namely think tank research platform, think tank transformation platform, think tank report channel and think tank exchange and popularization  platform, to build the "Core Team" and "Think Tank Product System" with characteristics of RUC,  better serve scientific and democratic decisions of the Party and the Government, and make greater contributions to national economic and social development. Over the past year, NADS comprehensively implemented all requirements of the CPC Central Committee for construction of "National High-end Think Tanks", carried out innovation and exploration of system and mechanism in governance system, talent selection, incentive mechanism, achievement evaluation, think tank fund system, internal reference system, communication network and support platform as well as other fields, and worked on developing it into a new-type think tank with Chinese characteristics and international influence, so as to further create experiences and play the leading role in national  high-end think tank system.

Other units of the annual Top 10 Think Tanks include Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Institute of World Economics and Politics, CASS, National Institute of International Strategy, CASS, Academy of Macroeconomic Research of China, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, China Center for International Economic Exchanges, National School of Development at Peking University, Development Research Center of the State Council and Fudan Development Institute.

Li Chunlin, Vice Editor-in-Chief of Guangming Daily chaired the release conference, Du Feijin, Editor-in-Chief, Li Xiangjun, Director of Department of Theory, and Wang Simin, Director of Think Tank Research and Release Center of Guangming Daily and representatives of the elected "Top 10 Think Tanks" and "Top 10 Figures" attended the release conference. Wang Lili, Vice President of NADS was present at the release conference and received the honor certificate on behalf of the NADS.
