ICBRGD 2020 was Successfully Held in Beijing

On September 26, 2020, the 1st "Belt and Road" Green Development International Conference (ICBRGD) co-hosted by China International Culture Exchange Center (CICEC) and Renmin University of China (RUC), and co-organized by National Academy of Development and Strategy, RUC and "Belt and Road" Green Development Research Institute, CICEC was held at No.5 Studio of New Media Building of People's Daily. With the theme of "Mutual Learning of Green Civilization, A New Journey for the Joint Development of High Quality International Cooperation Under Green 'Belt and Road'”, the event was broadcasted by people.cn and v.people.cn on September 28. The conference was also publicized and promoted by the official Twitter of UN ESCAP, which is the first international event held by RUC promoted by the United Nations.

The ICBRGD 2020 consisted of one main forum and four sub-forums. The themes of these four sub-forums were " Mutual Learning of Green Civilization – The East Meets the West", " Green Development: Past, Present and Future", "Green Finance: It’s Role in Global Economic Recovery" and "Green Innovation and Connectivity in Asia: The 7th Anniversary of the 'Belt and Road' Initiative and UN Sustainable Development Goals".

The ICBRGD 2020 aimed to demonstrate China's important views on building ecological civilization and China's philosophy and achievements of green development, promote green culture exchange and mutual learning of green civilization, gather worldwide wisdom and experience of green development, start a new journey for the joint development of high-quality international cooperation under green "Belt and Road", discuss the impetus of green development and boost the world economic growth.

Delegates of over 50 institutions from 45 counties were invited to the event and 89 of them made presentations. As of October 7, 2020, more than 20 mainstream media reported the ICBRGD 2020. The search engine Baidu reported over 100 million searches related to the ICBRGD 2020 on the fourth day after the event, and Google reported over 50 million searches. The video traffic of the media such as people.cn, 163.com, ifeng.com, sina.com and weather.com.cn totaled 11.85 million.
