OctOn October 10th, Seminar of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on Education Issues Held at Renmin University of China. The seminar was hosted by Renmin University of China and the China Association of Higher Education, and jointly sponsored by the National Academy of Development and Strategy and the School of Education of Renmin University of China.
Liu Wei, President of the Renmin University of China, and Guan Peijun, Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Liu Zhanshan, Standing Vice President of Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education, Yang Yinfu, Secretary General of Chinese Society of Education, Xie Weihe, Dean of Education Research Institute Tsinghua University, Qin Xuan, President of Research Institute of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Lu Xiaodong, School of Education Peking University, Zhai Xiaoning, President of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, and Zhou Guangli, Deputy Dean of the School of Education of Renmin University of China, made separate keynote speeches.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Wei welcomed the guests and said in his speech that the Party Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, attached great importance to the education in the overall development of the country, national rejuvenation and people's happiness, which has foundational, comprehensive and purcursory impacts. In September this year, the National Education Conference was held in a grand ceremony. General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Starting from the overall situation of the party and the country, he systematically expounded a series of directional, comprehensive and strategic issues concerning the development of education in China in the new era, made a comprehensive deployment of China's education reform at present and in the coming period, indicating the correct direction and providing important follow-ups.
Liu Wei pointed out that Renmin University was born in the anti-Japanese bonfire. For 80 years, it has always shared the same fate with the party and the country. It has taken root in China's land to run a university, is committed to solving China's problems, sends out Chinese voices, provides Chinese programs, and contributes to China's wisdom. Since the National Education Conference was held, the school has always regarded the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on education as the primary political task. The convening of this seminar is of great significance for studying, publicizing and implementing the important exposition of General Secretary Xi Jinping on education and the talking spirit of the National Education Conference. It will further strengthen the confidence of building world-class higher education with Chinese characteristics and effectively enhance the sense of responsibilities and sense of mission of educational staff, contributing to the educational reform in the new era together.
Guan Peijun pointed out that under the background of the socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era and a moderately prosperous society construction entering the decisive stage, the Party Central Committee convened this conference is another new milestone in the development of education. General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the National Education Conference, from the height of the overall development of the party and the state, systematically summed up the achievements and experiences of the development of education, profoundly analyzed the new situation and new tasks facing the education work, and made a comprehensive deployment of how to accelerate the education modernization, building an education-strength country, and running a satisfactory education for the people.
Guan Peijun said that at present and in the future, studying and implementing the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the spirit of the National Education Conference are the primary political tasks in the education field and a major topic in the study of educational theory. Higher education should combine education work with overall work, combine history with reality, combine literature review and practical summaries, conduct research with higher positions and broader perspectives, and promote research on major topics more effectively; it should use new thinking and new models, seize the real problems, make real research, making the research of the subject always serve the major needs of the country and condusive to decision-making of education more scientific and democratic; it should highlight the problem-oriented, focus on practice and make the real innovation of subject research to ripe the real effective results, for providing the China's wisdom for the prosperity and development of higher education.

Zhou Guangli has made comprehensive report on "General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on Education Issues".
The report comprehensively sorted out the "nine persistences" and proposed that "nine persistences" is the self-organization of the general secretary's educational concept, highlighting the Chinese logic, enriching the concept of grand education concept and adhering to the problem orientation. "Nine Perseverance" is a concentrated expression of Xi Jinping's educational concept, including: "Strategic View" to build a strong education country, "the concept of purpose" for the people's satisfaction education, the "road view" of China's land-based education, the "purpose view" of regarding cultivating right moral values as the fundamental task of education, the "student view" of "the generation of a strong country", the "teacher view" of "four good teachers" and "four guiders", the "driving force concept" of deepening education reform and innovation, the education "opening up concept" of building the community of human destiny, and the party's "protection concept" for the overall leadership of education. Facing the future, higher education must follow the "Nine Persistences", take root in China's land education, inherit the excellent traditional culture, base on China's unique history, culture and national conditions, and reasonably learn from the advanced experience of the West, and striding forward to building top-ranking university with Chinese characteristics.
With the title of "Theory Guide and Action Plan for China's Educational Modernization", Qin Xuan conducted an in-depth analysis of China's major issue of how to transform a large educational country into an educational power.
Liu Zhanshan made a theme report on "In-depth Study and Implementation of Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on Education, and Unswervingly Follow the Development Path of Socialist Vocational Education with Chinese characteristics", and made recommendations on deepening the reform of vocational education system and mechanism.
Xie Weihe made an in-depth interpretation of the topic of “analysis of the meaning of education priority development”. He believes that entering a new era, the development priority of education is actually the requirement of national innovation-driven strategy implementation.
Yang Yinfu shared his understanding of "Nine Persistances and the Development of Socialist Education with Chinese Characteristics."
Lu Xiaodong made a report on the theme of "Labor, what does it mean in the era of artificial intelligence" and believes that the emphasis on labor in the new era of educational thoughts helps education return to practice and promote the spirit of seeking truth from facts.
Zhai Xiaoning gave a report on the topic of "Cultivating the Right Morality, Nurturing People, Educating Talents for the Country and Being Doer For China's Preliminary Education in the New Era" and shared the useful exploration and rich results of the high school affiliated to the Renmin University of China under the guidance of Xi Jinping's educational thought.
