The 23rd issue of Policy Briefing, NADS: Anticorruption Experience of Hong Kong and its Implications for Mainland China

Since its establishment in 1974, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC, Hong Kong) has committed to fight against corruption through law enforcement, prevention, and education. It plays an important role in protecting Hong Kong’s social justice, stability, and prosperity. ICAC’s work and achievements have been appreciated by global society and it has gained rich experience in anticorruption governance and institutional construction, which provides reference for China’s Clean Government Construction in the new era. Recently, Center for Research on Government-Enterprise Relationship and Industrial Development, NADS, held a lecture under the theme of Anticorruption Experience in Hong Kong and Case Analysis in ICAC” and invited Mr. Guo Wenwei, former associate commissioner of the ICAC in Hong Kong, as the speaker of this lecture. Mr. Guo shared the anticorruption experience of Hong Kong and its implications for mainland China. The lecture was separated in three parts: the first was the speech delivered by Mr. Guo, talking about some anticorruption cases of ICAC. The second part was the commentaries pointed out by Professor Nie Huihua, Deputy Dean of NADS. He mentioned that China should be confident in its work of anticorruption and should focus on details while reform from the macro level. The last part of was Q&A.
