Liu Xiaoguang

LIU Xiaoguang is a Wuyuzhang Chair Professor at Renmin University of China, Vice Dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy, and Principal Investigator of a Major Project funded by the National Social Science Fund of China. He has been selected for both national and Beijing-level youth talent programs. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Peking University and has been a visiting scholar at New York University and the University of Chicago. He also serves as Associate Editor of Economic Theory and Business Management, and has previously worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund and as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank. His primary research areas include China’s economic development, macroeconomics, macro-finance, and urban-rural development. He has published dozens of articles in top-tier journals such as Chinese Social Sciences and Economic Research Journal. Liu has received multiple honors, including the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education’s 8th Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences), the Ministry of Commerce’s Business Development Award, the Liu Shibai Economics Award, the Hong Yinxing Economics Award, the Young Economist Paper Award, the Special Prize for Outstanding Think Tank Research from CTTI, and the Award for Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in Chinese Economics. He is a regular contributor to the main reports of the “China Macroeconomic Forum,” and more than ten of his policy briefs have received instructions or comments from the Party and state leaders, including the General Secretary.
