Dr. Xu Qinhua is Wu Yuzhang Scholar; professor of International Political Economy and International Relations, director of the Center for International Energy and Environment Strategy Studies, and director of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European & Central Asian Studies at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China; vice dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy, executive dean of the Eurasian Research Institute, and director of the Research Center for the Belt and Road Initiative. Her research focuses on China’s energy diplomacy and international cooperation, international energy strategy, energy development policy, geopolitics, Eurasian regional security, BRI, green development, etc. She is standing director of the China National Association for International Studies, standing director of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European & Central Asian Studies, CASS, standing commissioner of the Chinese Petroleum Society, and deputy director and secretary general of the China Renewable Energy Industry Association. She is in the editorial commission of International Petroleum Economics (2014-) and the committee of the World Energy Council (2012-2016). She is senior researcher of the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (2007-2008), chief expert at the Research Advisory Base of the National Energy Administration (NEA) (2014-), convenor of the Think Tank Working Group of the “Belt and Road” Energy Partnership Cooperation Network of NEA, senior researcher of the Development Research Center of the State Council, visiting professor at Xinjiang University and PolyU, and the co-secretary-general of the Worldwide University Think Tank Network. She is the author of 18 books and more than 100 papers and academic articles, such as International Relations and the Construction of a Global Ecological Civilization, Understanding China’s Vision for Green BRI, Reports of the Evaluation on the Competitiveness of Global Energy Enterprises, Reports on China’s International Energy Cooperation, Energy Investments Political Risks under the Belt and Road Initiative, China’s Energy Policy from National and International Perspectives: The Energy Revolution and The Belt and Road Initiative, China Energy Policy in National and International Perspectives: A Study Fore-and-Aft 18th National Congress, An Introduction of Energy Diplomacy, New Geopolitics: Central Asia Energy and China, China’s Global Energy Strategy: from Energy Strength to Energy Power etc. She is editor-in-chief of China Energy International Cooperation Report (2009-) and received a number of approvals from the central government and adopted by various ministries. She published articles in People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, etc. And has a personal column in the Theory section of People’s Daily. She is a special commentator of China.com.cn and CGTN. She initiated and planned the China Energy International Cooperation Forum and the “Belt and Road” Green Development Conference.
