Delegation of Economic Research Institute for East Asia of Australian National University Visits National Academy of Development and Strategy of RUC for Cooperation Symposium

On the afternoon of July 5, Prof. Peter Drysdale, President of Economic Research Institute for East Asia of Australian National University (ERIEA of ANU), together with Zhang Dongdong, a federation research fellow at ERIEA of ANU, and Neil Thomas, Manager in charge of Sino-Australian economic projects, visited National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS) of RUC for cooperation symposium.

Liu Yuanchun, Executive President and the Head of the Department of Scientific Research of NADS, Prof. Zhang Yongxian, Director of Center for Australian Studies, Prof. XuQinhua, Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research and Vice Director of Energy and Resource Strategic Research Center, NADS, and Hu Weizhe, Editor of the National Think-tank of Development and Strategy, also participated in the cooperation symposium.

Before participation in the symposium, the delegation had gone to NADS for investigation and research. Representatives from NADS and ERIEA of ANU offered introduction to their institutions, and conducted discussions on the bilateral cooperation in the context of financial openness, deepened investment relationship and financial integration in China. The cooperation symposium was designed to explore targeted and feasible ways to implement and promote bilateral cooperation.

They also reached consensus on cooperation framework, capital source, topic selection and other relevant issues, and agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation after in-depth communication and discussion, aiming to establish a normalized communication mechanism for cooperation enhancement.
