Institution Introduction: Malaysia Centre For New Inclusive Asia, a non-governmental think tank, puts its focus on Asia’s new pattern as China’s rising in world stage, and regional changes among ASEAN and South Asian countries. As a member of the British Commonwealth, Malaysia embraces western values in aspects of politics, economy and culture. Centre For New Inclusive Asia aims to build understanding among Asian countries as well as between New Asia and the world.


Speaker Profile: Tan Sri Ong Tee Keat, Chairman of Malaysia Centre For New Inclusive Asia, President of Malaysian Silk Road Business Council, is also a social activist, literary worker and political critic. He dedicated over 25 years in Malaysian political system and has served many positions in Malaysia central government. From January 28, 1989 to May 5, 2013, he served as member of the parliament, then he became Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, also Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. ONG was appointed as Minister of Transport and 8th President of Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) in 2008. He is now devoted to the career of global and regional economic trade, culture, education and public diplomacy, especially to China-Malaysia relations. As chairman of a think tank whose research area extends to the entire Asia, ONG is committed to openness and inclusiveness for a better world.
