Speaker Profile:
ZHU Xiao, Ph.D of Laws, is currently Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of RUC Law School as well as Deputy Director and Secretary-General of Research Institute of Environmental and Resources Legal Theory of Supreme People’s Court (RUC). ZHU is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of Environmental Law. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Environment Law Chapter, Vice Chairman of Ecological Damage Assessment Committee of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Deputy Secretary-General and Executive Council Member of Environment and Resources Law Research Association of China Law Society. ZHU was selected into programs such as National Special Support Program for High-level Personnel as a talent youth in 2015 and Changjiang scholars Program in 2017.
In this lecture, Professor ZHU will demonstrate the legislative guarantee of China’s public participation in environmental protection upon its history, status quo and vision.
