Introduction of the Speaker:

As a well-known contemporary expert in China’s Politics and Sino-U.S. Relations, Li Cheng is director of the John L. Thornton China Center and a senior fellow in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings. He is also a director of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. His researches include Sino-U.S. Relations, China’s leadership, middle class and technological development. Li focuses on the transformation of political leaders and is committed to promote the relations between U.S. and China. Li is also the author or the editor of numerous books, including "The Power of Ideas: The Rising Influence of Thinkers and Think Tanks in China", “Chinese Politics in the Xi Jinping Era: Reassessing Collective Leadership", "China's Political Development: Chinese and American Perspectives" and etc.
