NovA Survey of National Commercial System Reform
The reform of the commercial system is a hot spot of practice in comprehensively deepening reforms. During July and August in 2018, Xu Xianxiang's research team went to the government affairs halls of 182 districts in 16 provinces across the country for field survey. They examined four dimensions of the commercial system including market entities’ application for business licenses, various types of licenses, market supervision and digital government, in order to systematically explore the progress of the reform of commercial system in various places, the main problems it is facing and the direction of deepening the reform. An analysis of the reform of the commercial system will help us understand China's business environment and the relations between politics and business.

Speaker Profile:
XU Xianxiang is currently Director and Professor of the Department of Economics, Lingnan College. He used to work as the deputy editor of Southern Economy. The lecturer “Intermediate Macroeconomics” given by him was selected as a national quality course. And he was once awarded the title of “The teacher who has the most influence on me” at Lingnan College. Xu’s research areas are China's economic growth and local officials' behavior. He has published dozens of papers in domestic and foreign academic journals such as Economic Research Journal and Management World, and has published many books.
