At present, the pattern of public opinion that western countries are stronger than China has not changed fundamentally. Some people with ulterior motives in the Western countries have occasionally created concepts and statements to distort China's image, and unreasonably attacked China’s efforts to enhance the country’s image and international influence, and accused China of efforts to promote international cooperation and build a community of human destiny. These distorted statements reflect that the "China threat theory" and the Cold War mentality is still deeply ingrained in the minds of some people in the West.

China is a country that has never posed any threat to world peace and development. However, some people in the West have often concocted the "China threat theory." In recent years, the reason why the "China threat theory" has risen is closely related to the profound adjustment of the world pattern. After the outbreak of the international financial crisis in 2008, the development of some western countries was in trouble with weak economic growth, incapable political function and chaotic society. On the contrary, many developing countries developed well, causing profound changes in international power. In order to shirk their responsibilities and pass on domestic contradictions, some politicians in the western countries are accustomed to looking for enemies from the outside, and rendering the so-called "China threat theory" is their usual trick. In fact, China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order. The "China threat theory" is deliberately speculated and theoretically untenable, and in practice it is also inconsistent with the facts seen by people around the world. China has always been committed to building a new type of international relations of mutual respect, fairness, justice, cooperation and win-win, showing a good image of a responsible big country and making new and significant contributions to world peace and development.

For example, in terms of economic development, China adheres to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, improves the socialist market economic system, accelerates the transformation of development methods, optimizes the economic structure, and continuously improves the quality and efficiency of development. In recent years, China's economy has maintained rapid growth in the medium and high speed, ranking among the top countries in the world, contributing more than 30% to world economic growth. More importantly, China has always been committed to the common development and prosperity of the world, adheres to the basic national policy of opening to the outside world, builds a new platform for international cooperation, and adds new momentum for common development of all countries. The Chinese people open their arms to welcome people from all over the world to take the "fast train" and "free ride" developed by China. China's rapid economic growth has provided a powerful impetus to global economic stability and growth. The coordinated development of China's large number of countries has made the global economic development more balanced. The development of China to the world including the Western countries is obviously not a "China threat" but a "China opportunity."

Another example is that in the international order, China's process of reform and opening up is also a process of continuous integration into the world and plays an active role in it. The developed China actively participates in the reform of the global governance system, and provides the new ideas and new impetus for the reform of the global governance system with the responsibility of responsible big countries. The old logic of the so-called “national power must dominate” never applies to China. China practices and builds a shared global governance concept, advocates the democratization of international relations, gives full play to the role of the United Nations, expands the representation and voice of developing countries in international affairs, and advocates that all countries jointly grasp the destiny of the world and jointly write international rules and share development results. In the report of the 19th National Congress of the Party Central Comittee, Comrade Xi Jinping will "promote the construction of a community of human destiny" as one of the basic strategies for adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. There is no doubt that China was, is, and will be the builder of world peace, the contributor to global development, and the defender of the international order.

Comrade Xi Jinping pointed out: "China will never develop itself at the expense of the interests of other countries. China's development will not pose a threat to any country. China will never seek hegemony and never expand. Only those who are used to threatening others will see everyone as a threat. No one should misunderstand and misinterpret the sincere wishes and practical actions of the Chinese people in contributing to the peace and development of mankind. "We must be conscious of that some people in the West intented to distort China and keep clear strategic focus. The first step is to do a good job of China's own affairs and let China's development bring more opportunities to the world. We must strengthen the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, self-confidence, theoretical self-confidence, institutional self-confidence, and cultural self-confidence. We will persist in implementing the ways which have proved effective by the practice and ensure the sustained and healthy development of the economy and society. China does not "input" foreign models, nor does it "export" the Chinese model. It will not require other countries to "copy" China's practices. Instead, it will continue to make contributions to the world and peace, to the common development of the world, and exchange for world civilization. The world is fair. People all over the world will see more clear about the great contributions made by China to world peace and development. The so-called "China threat theory" that some people in the West have speculated will also be self-defeating.
