JunOn June 3, the press conference for the Report on the Blueprint for High-Quality Development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the inaugural Intercity Strategic Seminar were held in Yibin City.
Attendees included LIN Shangli, President of Renmin University of China; OUYANG Zehua, Vice Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and LIAO Wenbin, Deputy Secretary of the Yibin Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Yibin, all of whom delivered speeches. Keynote speeches were given by ZHANG Weiguo, Party Secretary of Southwest University; XIAO Jincheng, President of the China Land Economy Society; ZHANG Wenzhong, Researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences; CHANG Jiwen, Deputy Director of the Institute for Resources and Environmental Policies at the Development Research Center of the State Council; WANG Zhen, former Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; and YANG Mian, Director of the Institute of Economics at Wuhan University.
LIU Qing, Executive Dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy at Renmin University of China, chaired the first stage of the press conference.
PANG Jun, Dean of the School of Ecology and Environment at Renmin University, chaired the second stage.
TU Yonghong, Dean of the Yangtze River Economic Zone Research Institute at Renmin University, officially released the Report on the Blueprint for High-Quality Development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the current status and trends of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from six key dimensions: industrial development, technological innovation, financial support, territorial spatial planning, talent-friendliness, and ecological security. It offers a dynamic and panoramic profile to guide future development.
LIN Shangli, OUYANG Zehua, ZHANG Weiguo, and LIAO Wenbin jointly launched the Yangtze River Economic Belt High-Quality Development City Database. This database will serve as a vital resource for regional research, policy-making, and strategic implementation, enhancing the scientific and forward-looking nature of decisions related to high-quality regional development.
During the case study session, Professor HUANG Jun from the School of Applied Economics at Renmin University presented Research Report on the Cultural and Historical Genealogy of a Mega-size State-owned Enterprise Wuliangye: Studies on Natural and Inheritor Lineages, which provides an in-depth analysis of how cultural and ecological values can be integrated in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, offering a theoretical and practical framework for sustainable development in the region.
The event was hosted by Renmin University of China and organized by its Yangtze River Economic Zone Research Institute and the National Academy of Development and Strategy, with co-organization by Yibin Wuliangye Co., Ltd. Nearly 100 representatives from cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, university scholars, and business professionals attended the conference.
