RUC and China Daily Signed a Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation in International Communication

On May 27, Renmin University of China and China Daily signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation in international communication. Figures attended the meeting including Qu Yingpu, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of China Daily, Ji Tao, member of

Editorial Board and Country Interior Director, Zhang Donggang, Party Secretary of RUC, and Lin Shangli, President of RUC. Zhu Baoxia, Vice President and Secretary-General of China Daily, and Zheng Xinye, Vice President of RUC, signed the framework agreement on behalf of the two sides. Zheng Shuiquan, Deputy Party Secretary of RUC, presided over the signing ceremony.

Renmin University of China and China Daily fully leverage their strengths to better serve industry development and academic research. Signing an international communication strategic cooperation framework agreement is a good start for the two sides to further carry out multi-dimensional cooperation in the future, including media platform construction, think tank construction, talent cultivation, and international exchanges.

Qu Yingpu pointed out that China Daily is the national English daily newspaper and the main force of international communication. It is hoped that China Daily and Renmin University of China will innovate Chinese discourse and Chinese narrative system based on current stituation, continue to deepen exchanges and expand cooperation, and make greater contributions to the construction of a world-class media group and a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.

Zhang Donggang pointed out that both Renmin University of China and China Daily bear the major responsibility and glorious mission of strengthening the construction of international communication capacity. It is hoped that the two sides will take the framework agreement as an opportunity to jointly share excellent Chinese thoughts and referable problem solutions for global issues.

It is hoped that the two sides will make full use of their respective resource advantages, strive to build a model of cooperation in strengthening international communication capacity building, and steadily promote cooperation to achieve fruitful results.

Leaders from relevant departments of Renmin University of China and China Daily participated in the meeting.
