RUC President Liu Wei and Vice President Liu Yuanchun Shortlisted for the Chinese Economists 50 Forum

Led by Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, the Chinese Economists 50 Forum ((CE50)), known as the top Chinese economic think tank, recently completed its latest reelection. Among the new members are Liu Wei, the President of Renmin University of China (RUC), Dean of National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS), and Liu Yuanchun, the Vice President of RUC.

RUC President Liu Wei, together with Vice Premier Liu He, Central Bank Governor Yi Gang, and Wu Jinglian, Senior Research Fellow at the Development Research Centre of the State Council, and other 36 old members still retained their positions. RUC Vice President Liu Yuanchun and other 9 members are the newcomers.

“Management of risks and stabilization of economic growth are the two priorities for 2019, where stable growth might be of the greatest importance in the next 20 years. This is because first, the pressure from economic downturn is huge; second, 2019 will see fierce international competition and stable economic growth must be maintained as any slump at this critical point would cause serious consequences that might be hard to deal with; third, the changing world structure and external chaos pose great challenges on Chinese domestic situation,” commented by Liu Yuanchun on stable economic growth.

Chinese Economists 50 Forum (CE50) is a civil academic organization for public interests, founded by celebrated Chinese economist in Beijing in June 1998. The Forum brought together near 50 Chinese economists who have first-class academic standards of research and high reputation in academic circles who dedicated to the research of economic development in China. The Forum is widely recognized at home and abroad as a "think tank" to China's top level economic policy makers.
