JulOn the morning of June 28, 2025, the 17th Biweekly Policy Analysis Meeting, hosted by the National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS) at Renmin University of China and organized by the Institute for Middle East Studies of the School of Global and Area Studies at Renmin University, was held. The forum featured in-depth discussions on the theme “The Evolving Geopolitical Landscape of the Middle East After the Iran-Israel Conflict and Its Implications for China”.
The meeting was chaired by Professor TIAN Wenlin, Director of the Institute for Middle East Studies at the School of Global and Area Studies and a professor at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China. Participants in the discussion included Professor LIU Zhongmin from the Institute of Middle East Studies at Shanghai International Studies University and Vice President of the Chinese Society for Middle East Studies; Dr. TANG Zhichao, Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Research Division at the Institute of West Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS); Professor SUN Degang, Director of the Middle East Studies Center at Fudan University; Dr. LIAO Baizhi, Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Institute of Middle East Studies at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR); Dr. QIN Tian, Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the same institute; Dr. ZHU Quangang, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of West Asian and African Studies, CASS; Professor WANG Yiwei, Director of the Institute of International Affairs and professor at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China; and LI Zixin, Deputy Director of the Office for Scientific and Technological Affairs at the China Institute of International Studies.
The participating experts and scholars engaged in lively discussions, offering numerous strategic insights and practical suggestions. Professor TIAN Wenlin concluded the meeting with a comprehensive summary.
