The 13th Issue of Policy Briefing, NADS: Special Research of NADS in the Summer Vacation

Since its founding in 2013, NADS has been adhering to the down-to-earth research practice and encouraging researchers to conduct all forms of research activities in regions, enterprises and public institutions. The purpose is to promote combination of think tank research and real problems and that of theory and practice and provide more feasible research advice for economic and social development. In the summer vacation of 2016, to further improve political consultation level, NADS set up a special fund to encourage researchers to conduct research in the summer vacation. The research was mainly focused on the three major aspects of economy and reform, society and people’s livelihood, and politics and life, covering the multiple topics such as industrial policy, economic issues of Northeast China, transformation and development of old industrial cities, de-capacity and staff resettlement of the coal industry, development of China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone, status quo of migrant workers, status quo of retired soldiers’ independent employment and resettlement by government, service management of floating population in urban communities of Xinjiang, green development of poverty-stricken areas, democracy views of grass roots, responsibilities of county-level and township-level governments, and think tank talent mechanism. Research teams carried out field investigations into these topics in places such as Jilin, Sichuan, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Anhui, Shanghai and Xinjiang, rendering fruitful research findings. This article summarizes, extracts and compiles key contents of 14 pieces of research findings for reference.
