AprLIU Qing, Ph.D. in Economics, is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Economics, Renmin University of China (RUC). He currently serves as Executive Dean and Chair of the Academic Committee at the National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS), RUC. He is also a member of both the University Academic Committee and the Academic Committee of the Economics Division, Director of the Center for International Economics and Finance, and a Distinguished Changjiang Scholar Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education of China. His research focuses on the world economy, international trade, cross-border investment and mergers & acquisitions, corporate innovation, and China’s economic development. His academic papers have been published in top Chinese and international journals such as Economic Research Journal(《经济研究》), Management World(《管理世界》), The Journal of World Economy(《世界经济》), Journal of Financial Research(《金融研究》), Journal of International Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and Journal of Comparative Economics. He is the chief expert of several major projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), including key and special projects, and has led three National Natural Science Foundation projects along with dozens of ministry-level and local government research initiatives.
Professor Liu also serves as Vice President of the China Society of World Economics, an expert member of the 15th Five-Year Plan Expert Group under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and a member of several government advisory and expert committees including those for the Liaoning Provincial Government, National Audit Office, and Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance. He is Associate Editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics (SSCI) and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of International Trade and Economic Development (SSCI), among others. His honors include the 9th Humanities and Social Sciences Research Award for Higher Education by the Ministry of Education, the Best Paper Award from the Academy of International Business (AIB) in 2015, four-time recipient of the An Zijie Paper Award (the highest academic prize in international trade research in China), the Ministry of Commerce Research Achievement Award, and recognition as a Most Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier and a High Contribution Author by Wiley. He has been entrusted with multiple urgent research tasks from national leadership and frequently participates in internal seminars and cadre training sessions organized by central government agencies. In recognition of his contributions to academic advancement and policy consultation, he has received numerous awards, including Outstanding Research Achievement Awards, Advanced Individual in Disciplinary Development, and First Prize for Outstanding Think Tank Achievements by CTTI. His work and insights have been featured in major media outlets including People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and CCTV News.
