AprOn March 26, Lin Shangli, President of Renmin University of China (RUC), met with Professor Graham Allison, founding dean of the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).
Lin Shangli welcomed Allison's visit. He pointed out that HKS is an academic center in the field of international strategy and has made remarkable achievements in the cultivation of strategic talents and the research of international issues. He said that Chenghai Institute of Global Development and Security, recently established by RUC, will make in-depth efforts in the fields of global governance. He hopes international scholars can rely on the new platform to discuss issues faced by human development with Chinese scholars.
Allison said that RUC is committed to cultivating international talents with a global perspective, demonstrating the social responsibility of universities. He hopes to have discussions with Chinese scholars on how to promote the stable and healthy development of China-U.S. relations and how to jointly respond to global challenges, and to contribute to the promotion of China-U.S. cooperation.
Zhang Xiaojing, Chair of the School Council of the School of International Studies, Zhang Xiaomeng, Executive Dean of the School of Global Governance, Li Chen, Vice Dean of the School of International Studies, and Xu Yanran, Assistant Professor of the School of International Studies, attended the meeting.
