KONG Xiangzhi, a researcher at the National Academy of Development and Strategy (NADS) and a professor at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of Renmin University of China (RUC), published a commentary article in Guangming Daily. The specific measures proposed includes constructing a complete industrial chain, extensively applying modern technology, establishing a modern agricultural management system, achieving sustainable development, and enhancing food and agricultural product supply security.

Additionally, it emphasizes the guidance of President Xi Jinping’s important discourse on the work of agriculture, rural areas and rural people, focusing on the concept of “Big” to reflect the idea of modern agriculture, technology, openness, and integration. Specifically, big agriculture should establish a broad view of agriculture and develop a diversified food supply system. Big technology should increase the contribution rate of technology and promote the level of agricultural mechanization and equipment. Big openness should enhance agricultural international competitiveness and promote agricultural “going global”. Big integration should promote integrated urban-rural development, integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, as well as integrate agricultural industrial development with rural culture.
