Artificial intelligence is driving profound changes in production methods, lifestyles, and social governance, becoming a key driving force and strategic technology in the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. To further promote the deep integration of technology with education, research, and industry, and to advance the wide application of AI technology in the social sciences, the National Academy of Development and Strategy and the School of Applied Economics at Renmin University of China successfully hosted the seventh “Biweekly Policy Analysis Meeting” on the afternoon of September 8, 2024. The meeting focused on the theme “AI for Social Science—Frontier Technologies, Industrial Practices, and Talent Development,” engaging in in-depth discussions.
The seminar brought together several esteemed experts and scholars from both academia and industry, including Professor Xu Suxiu from Beijing Institute of Technology, Assistant Professor Sun Ya from the School of Economics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Rong Wenjin, Co-Founder of Beijing Yuhua Interactive Technology Co., Ltd., Tao Hailiang, Founder of Beijing Red Dragon Technology Co., Ltd., Professor Xu Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Smart Governance at Renmin University of China, Associate Professor Zou Jingxian from the National Academy of Development and Strategy, and Assistant Professor Zheng He from the School of Applied Economics. The meeting was chaired by Professor Chen Zhanming, Vice Dean of the School of Applied Economics at Renmin University of China.
During the discussion session, the participating experts and scholars shared their insights and practical experiences from multiple perspectives on economic transformation driven by AI, innovations in social governance, and the cultivation of interdisciplinary talent. The meeting not only delved into the specific applications of AI technology in various fields but also focused on the practical needs of social governance and talent development in the AI era. This seminar provided valuable insights and directions for the future deep integration of AI and the social sciences.
